From the Earth to the Moon!

Blast off to adventure with a 20-to-30-minute theatric science show in our Moonshot Theater filled with engaging demonstrations and audience participation. Orbit the Earth, voyage to the Moon, and explore ancient volcanoes and icy craters on the lunar surface. Learn about Pittsburghers who are building robots to explore the Moon. Get a sneak peek into a working lunar laboratory where real spacecraft are built!

This option also includes plenty of time for self-guided exploration of the museum gallery. Interactives include designing a mission patch, exploring careers in the space industry, building a lunar rover, exploring a lunar habitat, and the opportunity to send a message to the Moon!

Field trips with over 30 students will be split into two groups who switch between the theater and gallery spaces halfway through their visit.

Let’s build your Moonshot Museum experience together! Additional programing for groups of different sizes, budgets, and grade levels, or for shorter field trips, is also available, and we’re happy to work with you to provide an experience that works best for your group.
